In July 2009 the council introduced a FREE
parking after 3pm MONDAY – FRIDAY and ALL DAY
SUNDAY, on all their Town Centre car parks and on
street parking. There are over 225 on street short
stay pay and display spaces and a number of
disabled spaces available in car parks and on
street. The new state of the art multi-level car
park facility at the Stamford Quarter is now open
for shoppers. The Car Park has 24hr security, eco
lighting, strategically positioned ticket
machines, higher than average spaces for disabled
drivers and lift and stair access directly onto
George Street. The Car Park can be accessed via
High Street. Car parking tariffs may change so
